British Ceramics Biennial – Artist Into Industry Residency

Stoke on Trent

A six month residency awarded as part of the inaugural British Ceramics Biennial in 2009, jointly hosted by Staffordshire University and Minton at WWRD (Waterford, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton). This provided an invaluable opportunity to learn from an exceptional skill base at the Barlaston factory, and the time to study fascinating historical archives, which led to the development of new work in response to the experience - in the form of vessels, and subsequently more complex box forms. Pieces made following this residency have been acquired by the V&A Museum and National Museums Scotland for their permanent collections.
